“No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.” - 1 John 4:12
As I sit and reflect on Joy@KemptonPark I am still struggling to process everything. I am struggling to discern the volume of learning I can take from this (there is so much!). But I look at all the work that went into it and all that happened and I am struck by the volume of people involved.
One of the most beautiful things about this whole process for me was the unity of Gods people. More than 15 churches and 4 Christian organisations were involved all adding up to 300 volunteers. It brought joy and laughter as we came together to worship throughout the process. It built love and trust in us all as we worked side by side.
There were no denominations and no disagreements. Just Christian brothers and sisters working together for the Kingdom of God. How wonderful! And look what He did through His people as a result!
I think this is the beginning of something new and beautiful. That when we love each other as God calls us to do, people see Him in us. Unity in the body of Christ looks so beautiful in our troubled world. It was the thing people noticed the most and I think it was this verse lived out. I think it was “His love brought to full expression in us”. A new kind of evangelism, starting with us. Hurrah!
Are you ready? Is your heart ready for more? Is your church ready to receive? Are you Kingdom focused?
I pray the answer is yes because the world we live in needs His restorative, life giving and selfless love. And it lives in us. Can people see it in you? I for one want to capture that love in us and multiply what He has started.
Are you in?
